BIO

A class rider, Daniel 'DMC' McCoy joins Woodstock Honda Thor Racing to contest the 2008 Australian Motocross and Supercross Pro Open Championships aboard a Honda CRF450R alongside Craig Anderson.

Racing since he was seven years old, McCoy quickly progressed through the ranks onto the national stage and, in 2003, turned pro with instant success in the Lites class, finishing in the top three for the Australian Supercross and Thumper Nats Championships and fourth in the Australian Motocross Championship.

His strong form continued in 2004, scoring third place in the Supercross Nationals and fourth in the Australian Motocross Championship. Injuries plagued the talented New South Welshman when he suffered a broken leg, followed by a knee reconstruction in late 2004 and 2005 respectively.

Fully mended in 2006 and stepping up to the Pro Open class, McCoy, through no fault of his own, had a season to forget as he was plagued by mechanical failures with his racebike failing in 11 of the 20 races of the motocross season. Last year, McCoy narrowly missed clinching the Australian Pro Lites Supercross Championship by just one point, to finish in second place.

McCoy was again sidelined by injury early in the 2007 Australian Motocross season when he separated his shoulder and reinjured his knee and, as in 2005, required another reconstruction. Determined to return to the top of his game, McCoy continued to train and maintain fitness in readiness for the 2008 season.

Fighting fit and now competing with Woodstock Honda Thor Racing in 2008, McCoy is a dangerous opponent on the motocross track and deadly in the Supercross arena.

McCoy is also a part-time tattooist.
